How to apply a date filter in excel ?

Today we will learn on this tutorial that how to apply a date filter that only displays records that meet certain criteria.

Click on one of the cells inside the data set   -> On the Data tab, in the Sort and Filter group, click Filter  -> Arrows in the column headers appear.

Click on the arrow next to the date  -> Click on Select All to clear all the check boxes, click on the + sign next to 2015 and after January click on the check box and click on OK  = Excel only displays 2015 sales in January.

Click on the arrow next to the date   -> Click on Select All to select all the check boxes  -> Click on the date filter (this option is available because the date column contains dates) and choose the last month from the list   = Excel only displays last mont sales
